Printing High Performance Composites On The Ultimaker S-Series Of 3D Printers

Materials from Ultimaker include the trusted PLA with its print friendliness, flexible TPU, wear-resistant Nylon, and several others that would make this list too long to include. Apart from the standard Ultimaker filaments, the platform also accepts material from 3rd party filament brands, leaving you spoilt for choice when going about a material selection exercise.

The Widest Material Choice On The Market

Ultimaker Nylon

Ultimaker Nylon is a polyamide grade based on PA6/66. It features reduced humidity absorption and a longer shelf life compared to other nylon filaments. Able to withstand significant mechanical stress, nylon material is a great choice for 3D printing tools, functional prototypes, and end-use parts.

Ultimaker PLA

Ultimaker PLA (polylactic acid) is highly versatile, easy to print, and available in 11 colors. It prints reliably with high dimensional accuracy and a quality surface finish. This makes it an ideal material for a range of applications – from detailed prototypes to simple manufacturing jigs and gauges.

Ultimaker Tough PLA

Ultimaker Tough PLA is a technical PLA (poly lactic acid) material with a toughness similar to ABS. It is ideal for printing functional prototypes and tooling at larger sizes – without fear of de-lamination or warping. Our Tough PLA offers the same safe and easy use as regular PLA.

Ultimaker CPE

Ultimaker CPE (co-polyester) material is an ideal choice for 3D printing functional prototypes and mechanical parts. This filament is formulated for chemical resistance, toughness, and reliable dimensional stability.

Ultimaker CPE+

Ultimaker CPE+ material is chemical resistant with high dimensional stability, with the added advantages of increased temperature resistance and higher impact strength compared to regular CPE.

Ultimaker Breakaway

Ultimaker Breakaway support is easy and quick to remove. It leaves behind a smoother quality finish than other support materials, with no further post-processing needed.

Ultimaker PP

Ultimaker PP (polypropylene) is a durable, chemical resistant material. It has exceptional fatigue resistance, high levels of toughness, and a low-friction co-efficient. From electrical components to living hinges, PP is the go-to material for prototyping and end-use parts.

Ultimaker PVA

Ultimaker PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) is a leading water-soluble support material for multi-extrusion 3D printing. It offers you freedom and convenience: to design complex model geometries that require supports, which dissolve away in tap water.

Ultimaker PC

Ultimaker PC (polycarbonate) material, printed parts that are tough, strong, and retain dimensional stability when subjected to temperatures as high as 110 ºC. Our polycarbonate 3D printing material properties make it perfect for printing molds, tools, functional prototypes, and parts for short-run manufacturing.

Ultimaker TPU 95A

Ultimaker TPU 95A (thermoplastic polyurethane) is a flexible material, making it ideal for applications that demand chemical resistance and the qualities of rubber and plastic. For a seamless 3D printing experience, we’ve engineered Ultimaker TPU 95A to be easier and faster to print than other TPU filaments on the market.

Ultimaker ABS

Ultimaker ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is formulated to minimize warping and ensure consistent interlayer adhesion. ABS material is a great choice for creating functional prototypes and complex end-use parts.

Antimicrobial Activity Of Coppper

Copper and Nano Copper inhibits the replication and propagation abilities of SARS- CoV4, influenza5 and other respiratory viruses, having a high antimicrobial (antiviral and antibacterial) potential and, as Copper can inactivate viruses as SARS-like and SARS- Cov4, influenza virus5, H1N1, and eliminates dangerous bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Listeria, among others6, after a short period of exposure, Copper3D’s PLACTIVE® and Mdflex® could be an effective and low-cost complementary strategy to help reducing transmission of several infectious diseases by limiting nosocomial infectious transmission.

PLACTIVE ™ Antimicrobial Activity

These graphics shows the results of studies conducted by microbiology laboratories in USA, Chile and Dubai. These studies confirm that the Colony Forming Units (CFU) of Staphylococcus aureus MRSA and Escherichia coli DH5α and other common microbes, falls abruptly during the first minutes in contact with PLACTIVE, continuing the elimination of bacterial strains until reaching >99.99% elimination at 24 hours.

ANTIMICROBIAL, FLEXIBLE, REUSABLE, WASHABLE, N99 FILTRATION

NanoHack Maverick has been developed with a flexible, non-porous, biocompatible antimicrobial elastomer developed by Copper3D, allowing superior fit and tightness. The filtration system used by the NANOHACK Maverick consists of a triple layer of variable density non-woven polypropylene material, similar to that used in surgical masks or N95 These filters are also embedded in a copper-based antimicrobial additive, so these are not regular filters, these are antimicrobial (active) filters. This filter system has been tested under the OSHA * protocol with a filtration result equivalent to N99.
Triple layer of non-woven polypropylene it’s equivalent to a N99 standard!
Filter System
NanoHack Maverick uses an active (antimicrobial) filter system with different densities in three layers of Non Woven Polypropylene. This filter has been tested and validated according to the OSHA 29CFR1910.134 protocol, with the QNFT test method using the TSI PortaCount, giving as a result a protection level equivalent to a N99 standard. The NanoHack mask comes with a 7-days filter kit, one for each day, which we recommend removing after continued use for about 24 hours.
